I began writing stories on the back of scrap paper at the age of 13, then filing them away, while also resisting peer pressure to avoid death defying stunts off my swing-set. Now I'm an adult and own a laptop so there are many MS Word folders filled with stories. I've since retired from jumping off swing-sets.
My first short story "Shadows of Promise", published in 2011, under the name Heather McCubbin was included in the anthology "Transcendent: Tales of the Paranormal". Currently, I finished the saga "LANE CHANGES" and I'm getting the first book in that YA/NA series ready to self-publish. I'm also working on a fantasy novel with a long-time friend in between a teaching job and attending family activities.
In addition to writing, editing, reviewing and reading I enjoy traveling, board games, volunteering with Marching Band all while fostering cats/kittens. A native Marylander, she supports the Redskins, Capitals and Orioles. She moved back to Maryland after a three year stint outside of Boston with her family, dog and 20 pound cat.
